IE9 giving white backround around image

Hi All.
I am currently working on wesite and I have in the bottom right corner a small image. It looks fine in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. But IE8 it shows a white background around it. Can anyone knows how to resolve it.

add following attribute in your css styling of the image
allowtransparency="allowtransparency"
