VM - HowTo show product stats (hits counter)

Hi,

I use Joomla 1.5 + VM 1.1.5 for my site (with no shopping cart for now). There is only 1 piece for each product. The website owner needs to know which product has got good hits.

Is it possible to show product hits counter in every products, because my customers need it?
If not, what does VM have right now to help for this solution?

You can refer to "Joomla E-Commerce with VirtueMart" book from Packt Publishing.

It is a great book that teaches you how to use VirtueMart with Joomla.

I set Virtuemart mode = "Catalog" (not "e-commerce"), so it just shows the products without using the shopping cart.

In Joomla, when VirtueMart is installed, a table named jos_vm_product is created. This table stores all the information related to the particular product.

You can add a field named as product_stats to this product table that will allow use to track how many hits a product receives. This should include the ability to reset the hit counter also.
