I am clueless as to how to fix this. Can someone help me figure this one out?

After installing the template in Joomla core and validating it for XHTML compliance, i am facing the following error:

the Validator error:
Line 468, Column 7: end tag for "div" omitted, but OMITTAG NO was specified.

</body>

You may have neglected to close an element, or perhaps you meant to "self-close" an element, that is, ending it with "/>" instead of ">".

Please help!
Thanks in advance!

You must have not close the div with a </div> or you closed another tag before closing the the div.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'installing template in joomla core'. Joomla has an installer for all the extensions (components, templates, modules, and plugins). Hopefully you used the extension manager to install the template. Right?
I'd like to look at the page source that you get. Locating the error in the page source can help locate the problem in the system. It's not likely part of Joomla itself. It may be an extension you installed, but most likely the new template.
I would first try changing to another template and see if the problem goes away. Try changing back to the either beez or milkyway templates that come with the default installation.
If it is the template causing the problem, most likely it can be fixed. It may also be easier to change to another template if you are not committed to this one. What is the source of the template?
I'll help you through this. I'll help you in this forum as much as possible. At some point it may be necessary to take our discussion off line, especially for more involved issues or info about your site that is best left not published in a public forum.
