Emails with Joomla 1.7

I am working on a project and the requirement is to integrate E-mail system with Joomla 1.7.

I want to know how to integrate E-mail system with Joomla 1.7 ?

Can anyone help me ??

I'm a complete beginner, but have heard that Joomla has its own email service called Jnews, put out by Joobi.com, website ijoobi.com. As a Joomla component it's free. I'm setting up a simple Joomla site so I can send out autoresponders, and will check this out. Good luck!
