Hi,

I am new to Open Source Environment. Currently I am creating a website using Joomla 1.7.

The tutorials on this site are very useful and it has helped me in creating my first website on my own.

I will definitely recommend this site to my open source friends.

The problem I am facing is that I want to know if you can link to an article without creating a Menu for the article.

I don't want to have the article displayed as a Menu to my site visitors.

Please can any one help me out.

JCE Editor Plugin has a built in feature to add a link to an invisible menu.

Go to Menus-> Menu Manager and click on Create New.

Fill in the Title of the Menu and Description for the Menu.

Example:
Title – Hidden Menu
Description – All the page which are not directly displayed on the website

Go to Menus -> Hidden Menu. After entering the Hidden Menu Manager, click on NEW.

Create the menu with the “Menu Item Type -> Single Article” menu.

After the menu has been created, go to the appropriate article where you want to add a link to the newly created menu.

From the JCE Editor, select Insert / Edit link icon. From the window that pops up, in the Link Browser area select the Menu option and navigate to the newly created menu and select it.

After that click on SAVE and then navigate to the front end of your Website and check the article.

A link will have been added to the article with the article being displayed as a menu.

Hope this helps.
