PayPal sends the request to your bank as soon as you make the payment. Just like a regular check, it can take up to 5 business days for the payment to clear and the money to be deposited into the recipient’s PayPal account.
A bank may decline an eCheck payment. For example, a payment will be denied if you don’t have enough money in your bank account. If this happens, the payment can be delayed up to 7 more business days.
You’ll always find the date we expect the payment to clear on the Transaction Details page. To find out your eCheck’s expected clearing date:
1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click History at the top of the page.
3. Click the Details of the transaction. The expected clearing date is next to the status of the transaction.
