Google+1 Button Plugin Configuration

This WordPress tutorial explains how to change the look and feel the Google+1 Button Plugin for your WordPress blog.

To configure the Google+1 Button Plugin in your WordPress driven Blog, login to WordPress as administrator, by simply entering the url_of_your_website/wp-admin in your Browser. Enter the appropriate username and password {which was provided while installing WordPress} and then click on Log In as shown in Diagram 1.

After logging in as WordPress Admin, a Dashboard page opens as shown in Diagram 2.

The Dashboard provides access to different WordPress functions and features.

In the left menu, locate the link Settings. Click on Settings, from the drop down menu that appears click Google+1 Button as shown in Diagram 3.

WP Google+1 Button page is displayed as shown in Diagram 4.

WP Google+1 Button Plugin gives the following options:

1) +1 Button Style:

This option helps you to show different sizes of Google+1 Button as shown in Diagram 5.

2) +1 Button Position:

This option tells you position the Google+1 button for your WordPress Post.

3) +1 Button Count:

This option allow to you to display the number of time your post has been share by Google+1 Button

4) +1 Button Visibility:

This option allows you to either display the Google+1 Button on your Post / Pages / Attachments. There is an option to hide Google+1 Button on your website Blog Page.

5) +1 Redirect on Click:

If you want to redirect the user to another page, after they click on the Google+1 Button, here you need to enter the custom URL. This can be disabled / modified per post on the post edit page.

NOTE:
In the +1 Button Position option, if you select None and would like to add additional +1 Buttons to your theme, please use the <?php do_action( ‘wp_plus_one_button’, $url, $style, $css, $count, $redirect); ?> in your theme.

Explanation of above code spec:

$url

This optional for the URL to +1 (will be get_permalink() if blank),

$style

This optional for the button style (standard, small, medium, tall),

$css

This optional for any extra CSS to add to the button DIV,

$count

This optional is for displaying +1 count.
true- to display the +1 count
false – not to display the +1 count

$redirect

A URL to redirect the user to after clicking the +1 button.
