Description:

Boxplus is a non-commercial plugin used in Joomla 1.5, Joomla 1.6 and Joomla 1.7 CMS. It is an ultimate lightweight pop-up window implementation (commonly known as a - lightbox) that can show images, video and other multimedia content including custom HTML content.

It exhibits a high degree of personalization with features like thumbnail bar of images inside the lightbox for fast navigation between items, image captions supporting HTML, auto-fit content and auto-center as well as several themes mimicking various popular lightbox implementations.

In Joomla, it adds a thin layer around boxplus client-side JavaScript code to expose its functionality in the Joomla framework.

Since boxplus is written entirely using the Joomla-native MooTools framework, it incurs virtually no extra overhead and you should not expect script conflicts, which are likely to arise with other plug-ins built on top of different JavaScript libraries.

Download:

Open a Browser window and enter http://extensions.joomla.org/ in its address bar and hit GO.

Enter the boxplus in the search textbox and click the search icon as shown in Diagram 1.

On the search results page there will be a list of Joomla components and plugins displayed. Locate the link boxplus in the search results page and click on it as shown in Diagram 2.

The Browser will navigate to a new page from where the boxplus plugin can be downloaded as shown in Diagram 3.

Click on DOWNLOAD to download the boxplus plugin as shown in Diagram 3.

When you click on the DOWNLOAD button, a new tab will open which will display the Download Page http://joomlacode.org/gf/project/boxplus/frs/ shown in Diagram 4.

Click on boxplus { latest version } for Joomla 1.7 as shown in Diagram 4.

Select Save File, and save the zip file to your hard disk. Click OK to save the zip file, as shown in Diagram 5.

On click of OK, a file browser will open up. Navigate to an appropriate folder on your hard disk and save the plg_boxplus-{any_version}.tgz file on your local computer, - eg.: “X:\boxplus”. Here X:\ represents an appropriate drive letter on your computer as shown in Diagram 6.
