Removing Access control - Joomla Administrator Folder - Created Via cPanel

Login to your cPanel and look for the Security section of icons. Click on Password Protect Directories as shown in Diagram 1.

On click of the Password Protect Directories icon, the screen as shown in diagram 2 will appear. Simply click Go.

On the next page, select the Administrator directory. This is the password protected Joomla folder on the website as shown in Diagram 3. There is a lock icon on the extreme left hand side of the folder indocating that the folder is locked i.e. protected..

The process of unlocking.

When the administrator folder is clicked on the screen as shown in diagram 4 is shown in the Browser.

Execute the following exactly as described.

Step 1: Delete the user
Step 2: Uncheck the checkbox - Password protect this directory

NOTE: Do not delete the Name of the protected directory

Click SAVE

The Joomla Administrator folder protection is removed.
