MySQL Uninstallation

Uninstalling MySQL on Windows:

To uninstall MySQL Community server from Windows click on Start –> Control Panel as shown in diagram 1.

In the control panel window that opens locate and double click the Programs and Features icon as shown in diagram 2.

The Programs and Features dialog box pops up. Scroll down till the MySQL Server 5.1 entry is reached as shown in diagram 3.

Select this entry (i.e. MySQL Server 5.6) as shown in Diagram 4. Right Click on the MySQL Server 5.6 entry and from the sticky menu that opens us select Uninstall as shown in diagram 4.

This will prompt for a confirmation to uninstall MySQL Server 5.6. Click on Yes as shown in diagram 5.

After collecting the information that the uninstaller needs, the un-installation process of MySQL Server 5.X begins. This will be followed by a progress bar, indicating the uninstallation process of MySQL is in progress.

When the progress bar reaches the end the MySQL Community server will have been uninstalled from your computer.

The MySQL Server 5.X entry will finally disappear from within the Programs and Features Window

NOTE:During the uninstalling process of MySQL sever from Windows via Programs and Features, the main folder where MySQL was installed in is not deleted.

To confirm if the folder exists or not, navigate to C:\Program Files\ as well as C:\Program Files (86)\and check whether the MySQL folder exits.

If the MySQL folder exists, simply delete the folder manually. Shift –> Delete will do just fine.
