Duplicate a Slide:

Duplicating a slide is another technique that you may require as you work on creating slide presentations. For example, you may want to repeat a slide later in the presentation and make slight changes to it to make a different point to the audience. When you duplicate a slide, you make an exact copy of it. The quickest way to add slides to an existing presentation is to duplicate the slides. Duplicating a slide can be done in Normal View.

To duplicate slide:

  1. Select the slide which has to be duplicated by clicking it on the Slide pane
  2. Select Insert à Duplicate Slide as shown in Diagram 12.
  3. Impress immediately inserts a duplicated slide just below the original slide and is displayed in the work area.

Notice that the newly inserted slide would take the next sequential slide number in the presentation.

Showing/Hiding Slides:

By using this feature, a slide can be hidden temporarily without actually deleting them from a presentation.

In order to show or hide a slide, in Normal, Outline, Notes and Slide Sorter View

  1. Right click the slide which has to be Hidden/Shown
  2. Select Show/Hide Slide from the Context menu as shown in Diagram 17.

When the numbers of the selected slide cross out as shown in Diagram 18, this indicates that Impress will skip this slide during the slide show.
